What It Means to Invest in Metabolic Advisory: How to choose the right level of metabolic support for the life you're building
Accomplished women rarely leave the important domains of their lives to chance. We retain a wealth advisor for our capital, an attorney for our contracts, and often a coach or a board for our leadership. Each of those relationships exists because the stakes are high and the field is complicated enough that good judgment pays for itself.
Our physiology carries every one of those investments, and it often receives the least strategic attention of all.
That gap tends to become visible in midlife. The annual physical comes back normal, and the reassurance is sincere. Yet you don't feel like yourself anymore. Focus is less predictably, recovery takes longer, and the energy that once carried us through the meeting, the dinner, and the evening email runs out sooner. At the same moment, we face more health advice than any generation before us. Much of that advice sounds confident and contradicts itself, and very little of it addresses a woman whose work and life demand what ours do.
To invest in metabolic advisory is to retain someone who makes sense of that picture with you. She tells you clearly where your energy is going and what deserves your attention first.
Normal results and not feeling like yourself can both be true
Lab reference ranges help physicians identify disease, and a normal panel is good news. A panel also captures a single morning and a defined set of markers. It can't show how last night's sleep affected this morning's decisions, or how lunch influenced the brainfog at three. It also can't show the small accommodations we've made over the past year to keep performing at our usual standard.
I call this gradual shift Metabolic Drift. Capable women usually notice it first as a change in the economics of the day. The work remains excellent, and producing it now costs more.
What I look at
When a client tells me her afternoons have become difficult, I begin with her morning. I look at how much the early hours demand of her and whether her energy production keeps pace. I look at how her body handles breakfast and lunch, because food shapes the hours that follow. I compare her thinking at nine with her thinking at three, and I look at what happens overnight and whether her nervous system fully recovers.
Then I look at what she has rearranged to accommodate the change. She may now prioritize demanding meetings before noon, scaled back her fitness training schedule, and begun declining opportunities because she can predict how she'll feel by evening.
Those five lenses form the 5 Forces of Metabolic Capacity, the framework at the center of my work:
- FIRE covers energy generation.
- FUEL covers how the body uses food and regulates blood sugar.
- FOCUS covers cognition.
- FLOW covers nervous-system regulation and recovery.
- FREEDOM covers the beliefs and adaptations that shape how fully we use the capacity we have.
Symptoms are data. Patterns are information, and information makes good decisions possible.
Why more effort rarely resolves it
The women I work with have usually researched and experimented with a variety of solutions already. They've adjusted their diets, trained harder, added supplements, protected their sleep, and pushed through. Many of those choices are sound for the general population.
The difficulty arises when a general solution meets an individual pattern. If the afternoon begins to fail after chronically interrupted sleep, a new lunch can only do so much. If the strain sits in your nervous system recovery, another hard workout adds to the load. In my experience, the effort has usually been there all along. It has simply gone toward a part of the system that isn't driving the pattern and produces suboptimal results.
What your investment includes
An advisory relationship gives you four assets that a program, an app, or a protocol can't provide.
Interpretation. I read your Assessment, your history, and your daily demands together, and I tell you what I see in plain language.
Sequence. You learn what deserves attention first, what can wait, and what you can stop doing. Clients often find they can do less and accomplish more once the order is right.
Discernment. You can bring me any supplement, protocol, test, or program. I'll give you a straight assessment of whether it fits your pattern and your goals.
Preparation. I help you arrive at your physician's office with sharper questions and a clearer account of what you're experiencing. That preparation makes your medical appointments more productive.
Metabolic support comes in several forms, and each one reflects a different depth of attention.
- Apps and subscriptions deliver general education at scale.
- Group programs add community and accountability.
- A single consultation offers a focused second perspective.
Advisory reserves real time and judgment for your situation, and it lets the guidance evolve as your body and your life change, which matters a great deal through perimenopause and beyond.
How the work unfolds
Every engagement begins in the same place, because good advice depends on a clear reading of your pattern.
The Entry Point: The Metabolic Capacity Assessment. This complimentary assessment gives us a first reading of how the 5 Forces are interacting in your body.
The Interpretation: The Metabolic Capacity Briefing™. Your Assessment shows you the pattern, and the Briefing gives you your unique Metabolic Blueprint. In a private session, I interpret your results in the context of your work, your life, and your ambitions. You leave with your personal Blueprint, which shows three points:
- what patterns are shaping your performance
- where your system may be compensating
- where to focus first
For many women, the Briefing provides the clarity they came for. For others, it becomes the foundation for deeper work.
The Cohort: The Executive Metabolism Salon. Once a year, I invite a small group of ten to twelve women into a six-month advisory experience. Each woman enters with her Briefing Blueprint. Over the following months, we watch as her pattern shifts in relation to her life, including demanding quarters, travel, disrupted sleep, and consequential decisions.
The six months follow a clear arc:
- We establish her baseline at the start.
- We review her capacity at the midpoint.
- We work through the situations and challenges members bring into the room.
- At the close, each woman receives a final Capacity Review and a forward Blueprint for the months ahead.
The Salon gives you six months of my interpretation and insights applied to your life as it unfolds. It also places you in a curated room of women who understand what the life you're building requires.
The Private Counsel: Executive Metabolism Reserve. Some women want individual attention alongside the Salon. Reserve adds six private advisory sessions with me, along with private WhatsApp access between sessions for brief questions and timely decisions. Together we determine your appointment schedule. You can spread them out or concentrate them during a particularly demanding season. I offer a limited number of Reserve places with each cohort.
Each engagement leaves you with insight you can use, and each one prepares you for the next.
The principles behind the work
Interpretation comes first. I offer advice and judgment. I don't sell supplements, devices, or products, so every recommendation I make answers to your physiology and your goals.
I work beside your physician. Executive Metabolism™ is an advisory and educational practice, and I don't diagnose or prescribe. My role is to help you understand your pattern and make better decisions, including better decisions about the medical care you seek.
Evidence comes with honesty. I draw on 35 years of clinical practice in East Asian medicine, functional health analysis, and systems physiology, along with leading-edge research. When the science is still early, I'll tell you so.
Discretion is essential. Your results, your goals, and our conversations remain private.
The cost of waiting
Women in leadership understand compounding. Capacity compounds in the same way.
When energy, focus, and recovery decline without attention, the losses accumulate through small decisions. We decline a role, postpone a trip, push a venture to next year, or spend an evening recovering instead of living. Over a decade, those decisions shape a career and a life.
When our physiology supports the life we want, the same principle works in our favor. Capacity creates choice.
Your next step
The Salon welcomes one small cohort each year, and Reserve places are limited, so I begin every advisory relationship with a conversation.
If you've completed the Metabolic Drift Assessment, request a Professional Inquiry Call. In that private conversation, we'll discuss what brought you to the Assessment, what you want more of in the years ahead, and how the Briefing, the Salon, and Reserve might serve you. If my work isn't the right fit for you, I'll tell you plainly, and where I can, I'll point you toward someone better suited.

The decades ahead will ask a great deal of you. What you say yes to will depend on your metabolic capacity.
